Baghdad, The Iraqi Football Association extends its warmest congratulations and blessings to our honorable Iraqi people on the occasion of the conclusion of the 25th Basra Gulf, and our national team winning the championship cup.
On this occasion, it said in a statement, we extend our thanks and gratitude to all governmental, official, political, cultural, media and social figures who contributed to the success of this great football event.
It added, “Thanks to the President of the Republic, the Speaker of Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Governor of Basra, and all the ministers and officials who communicated with us about all the details of this great achievement.”
Thanks are due, with love and respect, to Gianni Ivantino, President of the International Federation of Football Associations and President of the Gulf Federation
and to all the heads of the Gulf federations. We also extend our thanks and gratitude to all the foreign, Arab and local media outlets that covered the events of the tournament and conveyed the true picture of the Iraqi reality and its honorable people.
It continued, as we extend all our thanks and appreciation to the security services of all kinds and titles for their distinguished role in bringing the championship to safety. We do not forget the organizing committees, the security of the stadiums, and all the supporting parties.
It stressed that the 25th Gulf Championship in Basra proved to the whole world that Iraq is capable of rising, whatever the difficulties, and achieving victories in all fields with its unity and the cohesion of its national fabric.
It concluded its statement by saying thanks to our wonderful sports fans for their encouragement and high sportsmanship. And a thousand thanks, respect and appreciation to our honorable people in dear Basra who were worthy of responsibility, and a true reflection of the great face of Iraq, so they added with their generosity and kindness a distinct luster to the championship…. Mercy and eternity to the victims of our honorable fans who their blood was a great incentive to win the championship, and we ask God to dwell them in His vast gardens… God save Iraq and its beloved people.
