Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the ongoing efforts of its missions in neighboring countries to support the Iraqi community by providing consular and logistical assistance to citizens abroad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry, under directives from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, is actively monitoring the conditions of Iraqi citizens stranded in various airports and neighboring countries. Efforts are being made to ensure their safety and to facilitate their return to Iraq.

The Ministry’s statement highlighted the successful coordination between Iraqi missions in the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon. These missions have secured entry visas for citizens facing difficulties with entry procedures, working directly with relevant authorities in these countries.

Additionally, there has been increased coordination with missions in Kuwait, Iran, Turkey, and Jordan to organize the evacuation of stranded Iraqi citizens by land. The Ministry is ensuring that appropriate transportation means are available for their safe return.

To enhance communication and support, Iraqi Embassies in these countries have set up emergency contact numbers for citizens, aimed at addressing urgent needs. Consular teams are working around the clock to monitor citizens’ conditions and provide necessary protection and care.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed its commitment to following up on the affairs of the Iraqi community abroad, in line with the Minister’s directives, and to ensuring the protection and welfare of Iraqis in various situations.
