Iraqi Foreign Minister and British Ambassador Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional Peace

BAGHDAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, Fouad Hussein, met with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hitchen, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and regional political developments.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting covered topics of enhancing bilateral cooperation and the development of relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom. They also discussed political developments in the region and internationally, with a particular focus on the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza, the facilitation of humanitarian aid access, and the achievement of peace and security in the region. The British Ambassador emphasized the significance of joint efforts and cooperation to foster optimal relations with Iraq and coordinate security measures to achieve stability. This meeting signifies the ongoing commitment of both Iraq and the UK to maintain and enhance their diplomatic relationship and to collaborate on addressing regional challenges.
