Baghdad: Iraqi government spokesman Haider al-Aboudi affirmed on Friday that September 30th represents a sovereign milestone that establishes the transition of Iraq’s relationship with the international coalition to bilateral relations based on respect for sovereignty and mutual interests. Al-Aboudi conveyed that the government is proceeding with completing the international coalition’s military mission according to the agreed-upon timelines and mechanisms.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Aboudi emphasized that the path “will not be altered in any way against the will of the Iraqi state.” He indicated that Sovereignty Day represents Iraq’s transition to a new phase in which the state’s full authority is strengthened, security decision-making is unified, and the instruments of force are confined to constitutional and legal institutions.
