Baghdad: The Iraqi government has expressed grave concerns over the recent measures taken by the Zionist entity to prohibit the operations of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). The government considers this move a perilous act that significantly impacts the humanitarian situation in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi government’s official spokesman, Bassem Al-Awadi, issued a statement condemning the actions of the Zionist entity. He highlighted that this development poses a serious threat to the humanitarian efforts aimed at delivering aid to the occupied Palestinian territories. Al-Awadi emphasized the critical role that UNRWA has played for more than 75 years in providing support and relief to Palestinian refugees. The ban, he noted, endangers the safety and well-being of millions of civilians, including vulnerable groups such as children, women, and the elderly.

Al-Awadi further criticized the occupying entity for its continuous assaults
on UNRWA and its personnel, actions which he argued reflect a blatant disregard for international values and conventions. He accused the entity of attempting to further its agenda of genocide and ethnic cleansing in the occupied territories. The Iraqi government has called on the international community to uphold its humanitarian obligations and take decisive actions to halt these severe violations of humanitarian law.
