Baghdad: Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim al-Aboudi emphasized on Sunday the government's dedication to advancing the economy, consolidating state control over weapons, and reinforcing security throughout the nation.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the National Security Adviser disclosed in a statement that Qasim al-Aboudi hosted Adam Janssen, the charg© d'affaires ad interim of the European Union Delegation to Iraq, along with Ralph Schroeder, head of the EU Advisory Mission in Iraq. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and partnership between Iraq and European Union member states to align with Iraq's national interests.

Al-Aboudi expressed Iraq's aspiration for regional peace and stability by building trust among regional and international communities, promoting sustainable development that benefits all involved parties. He reiterated Iraq's commitment to maintaining balanced relations with both neighboring and friendly countries to advance shared interests.

He further mentioned that the Iraqi government continues to implement its program aimed at strengthening the economy, ensuring all weapons are under state control, and solidifying security across the country.

Janssen conveyed the European Union's support for Iraq's efforts to implement its ministerial program, especially its security reform agenda. He highlighted the EU's partnership in the implementation of the National Security Strategy, which provides a framework for enhancing stability and security in collaboration with the EU Advisory Mission in Iraq.
