Baghdad: Iraqi government spokesperson Haider al-Aboudi affirmed on Saturday that the agreements and MOUs signed with Washington represent a qualitative shift like the partnership with the United States.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the agreements and MOUs signed between the Republic of Iraq and the United States of America summarize the strategic economic vision of the Iraqi government, headed by PM Ali Faleh al-Zaidi. It embodies the importance of the direction and course of the Iraqi government's decision-making in protecting Iraqi interests and securing safe passage for national wealth, as stated by Al-Aboudi.

He added that during his visit to Washington, the Prime Minister selected the files most closely related to Iraq's economic development priorities, with a focus on the energy sector, developing investment in oil and gas, supporting infrastructure projects, and expanding cooperation in the fields of technology and the financial sector.

The Iraqi government affirms that these understandings represent a qualitative shift like the partnership with the United States, moving from typical cooperation to a long-term strategic economic level based on attracting quality investments, transferring expertise and technology, empowering the private sector, creating new growth opportunities, and strengthening Iraq's position as an active economic hub in the region, Al-Aboudi noted.

Al-Aboudi pointed out that these understandings reflect a shared vision for building a stable and balanced relationship between Iraq and the United States, based on common interests and enhancing Iraq's influence as an active partner in the global economy.
