Baghdad: Iraqi Minister of Health, Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, engaged in discussions today with the Dutch Ambassador to Iraq, Janette Seppen-Alberda, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the health sector. The talks highlighted training programs, workforce development, and the transfer of modern medical technologies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place at the Ministry of Health’s headquarters in Baghdad. It included participation from a delegation of the global company ‘Philips,’ led by Sales and Export Director Michel Besant, alongside several ministry officials.

The discussions emphasized the prospects for joint cooperation, expertise exchange, and support for capacity-building initiatives, as well as efforts to modernize Iraq’s healthcare system. Minister Al-Hasnawi reiterated the ministry’s commitment to engaging with international health experiences and expanding partnerships with friendly countries to improve the national healthcare system.

In her remarks, the Dutch Ambassador expressed her country’s willingness to support the Ministry of Health and strengthen bilateral collaboration. Furthermore, the Minister also conducted a meeting with the Philips delegation to discuss ongoing cooperation in advanced medical equipment, acknowledging the company’s expertise and global reputation in this area.
