Damascus: Iraqi Intelligence Chief, Hamid Al-Shatri, conducted an official visit to Damascus, delivering a message from Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani to Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharrah. The visit focused on addressing ways to strengthen bilateral relations and overcome common challenges faced by both nations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the visit was made under direct orders from the Prime Minister. During his meeting with President Al-Sharrah, Al-Shatri discussed several critical issues, including border security, counterterrorism efforts, and the situation of the Iraqi community residing in Syria.

The discussions culminated in an agreement between the two sides to expand security cooperation. This move aims to enhance stability and safety in the region, reflecting a shared commitment to addressing mutual concerns and fostering a more secure environment.
