Baghdad: The Tourism Authority is actively discussing preparations for the Iraqi International Travel Market (IITM), focusing on the essential organizational steps necessary for its successful execution. This initiative was led by Mahdi Ghadhban Al-Saadi, Director General of the Department of Tourist Groups, during the inaugural meeting of the reconstituted IITM committee.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the committee’s meeting highlighted the need for a specialized company to manage the operations of the travel market. Determining the date and time for the event is crucial to ensure its organization meets professional standards. The aim is to attract companies and entities operating in the travel and tourism sector, thereby enhancing the market’s effectiveness.
The Iraqi International Travel Market serves as a specialized tourism platform designed to unite both local and international tourism companies and institutions. It seeks to boost cooperation and partnership opportunities, promote Iraq’s tourist destinations, support inbound and domestic tourism, and open new avenues for investment and tourism exchange.
The committee emphasized the importance of completing preparations well in advance. This is to ensure that the market is presented in a manner that reflects Iraq’s tourism potential and strengthens its presence at events and exhibitions specializing in the travel and tourism sector.
