Baghdad: The Iraqi Journalists Syndicate has expressed condolences to the victims of the recent fire tragedy in Kut, where approximately 60 people lost their lives, and several others were injured. The Head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate and President of the Arab Journalists Union, Moayad al-Lami, reached out to the head of the Syndicate's branch in Wasit Governorate to convey his sympathies.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the phone call, Moayad al-Lami expressed sorrow and regret over the calamity that struck the city. He asked for divine mercy for the victims and a speedy recovery for those injured. He also affirmed the Syndicate's solidarity with the people of Kut and expressed support during this challenging time.
Al-Lami assured that he checked on the safety of the journalistic community in Kut, emphasizing that the Syndicate remains committed to supporting its members across all governorates, especially during crises. He highlighted that the Union is closely monitoring the situation and will maintain communication with relevant authorities to ensure necessary support for those affected.
