Baghdad: Weather forecasters from the Iraqi Meteorological Organization have predicted a rise in temperatures across Iraq in the coming days.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the organization released a statement detailing the weather conditions expected over the week. It forecasted that on Monday, the weather would be generally clear with some clouds in the northern region. Winds in the central and southern regions are expected to be moderate northwesterly, while the northern region will experience light and variable winds. Temperatures are projected to be slightly higher than today throughout the country.

The statement further outlined that Tuesday’s weather would remain generally clear with some clouds in the northern region. Winds are anticipated to be light to moderate northwesterly, with temperatures continuing to rise slightly across the country. The expected maximum temperatures for Tuesday are 42 degrees Celsius in Dohuk and Sulaimaniyah; 43 degrees in Erbil and Anbar; 44 degrees in Baghdad, Kirkuk, Karbala, Nineveh, Salah al-Din, and Diyala; 45 degrees in Wasit, Najaf, Babylon, Diwaniyah, and Muthanna; and 47 degrees in Basra, Dhi Qar, and Maysan.

The statement also provided forecasts for the following days. It indicated that Wednesday’s weather would be generally clear with some clouds in the northern region, with light to moderate northwesterly winds, and temperatures rising slightly in the central region while remaining similar in the northern and southern regions. For Thursday, the weather is expected to be generally clear with some clouds in the northern region, with light to moderate northwesterly winds, and temperatures similar to those of the previous day across the country.
