Baghdad: The Iraqi Meteorological Organization has forecasted a decrease in temperatures for the upcoming week, according to recent predictions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Transport released a statement indicating that a moderate air mass is expected to move towards Iraq and the surrounding region from southern Europe. This movement is anticipated to result in temperatures falling to slightly below the average for this period of the year.

The statement clarified that temperatures are not expected to reach the fifties (Celsius) anywhere in the country until the end of the month. Monitoring of weather models and updates will continue. This temperature drop is expected to be temporary, occurring mid-week, before temperatures gradually rise again towards the weekend.

The temperature decrease is predicted to have a more noticeable impact on the central, northern, and western regions of Iraq, where the intensity of the heat will lessen. In contrast, the southern region will experience only slight reductions in temperature, with hot summer conditions persisting.
