Baghdad: The Iraqi National Intelligence Service announced the arrest of a criminal network that was attempting to carry out assassinations and disrupt public security within the country.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the intelligence service emphasized its ongoing efforts to counteract any attempts to destabilize Iraq's security. The service, in collaboration with the judiciary, conducted a preemptive operation leading to the capture of the network. This operation was launched based on precise intelligence and field monitoring related to an attempted murder targeting a female journalist in February.

The operation successfully identified both internal branches and external connections of the network. With judicial approvals in place, the service located the members within Iraq and executed raids on their hideouts across multiple governorates, culminating in their arrest.

The National Intelligence Service has assured the Iraqi populace of its commitment to resolutely uncover and prevent any threats to the nation's security and stability.
