Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji stressed today, Thursday, the urgent need for the international community and the Islamic nation to take serious and immediate action to stop the ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from Al-Araji’s media office said that he received a delegation from the Palestinian Al-Aqsa Call Foundation, headed by the President of the Palestinian Islamic Authority, Saeed Qassem. The delegation is visiting Iraq to participate in the “Al-Aqsa Call” service procession between the provinces of Holy Karbala and Najaf for the fifth consecutive year, serving pilgrims of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
The meeting discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian scene, focusing on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the crimes of killing and starvation committed against civilians. Both sides emphasized the importance of urgent action by the international community and the Islamic world to stop these violations and end the suffering of Gaza’s population.
Al-Araji reaffirmed Iraq’s firm stance in support of the Palestinian cause, expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza and calling for an end to the ongoing crimes and the humanitarian crisis in the Strip. Saeed Qassem praised the Iraqi government and religious authorities for their continued support and assistance to the Palestinian people during these difficult times.
