Iraqi National Team’s Peter Korkis Secures Move to Al Ahly

Cairo: The Emirati newspaper Al-Khaleej announced that Al-Ahly Club has reached an official agreement with Peter Korkis, a player for Duhok Club and the Iraqi national team, to join the team at the start of next season, following negotiations that lasted for some time.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the head of Duhok Club's administrative board, Dr. Abdullah Jalal, confirmed that Korkis finalized his agreement with Al-Ahly's management. The transfer was secured with a financial deal, ensuring that Korkis will be part of the Red Devils' squad when the new season begins.

Dr. Abdullah Jalal further explained that Al-Ahly's interest in signing Korkis was longstanding. The Egyptian club had been interested in the player for several months, dating back to the previous season, before a final agreement was reached.

Jalal emphasized that Duhok's management supported Korkis's move to one of Egypt's and the Middle East's most prominent clubs. He noted that playing in the Egyptian league will be a significant step in Korkis's career, contributing to his skill development and providing new experiences.

Sources close to Korkis had previously revealed Al Ahly's strong interest in signing the player, which Duhok's management later confirmed as the deal progressed toward completion.
