Iraqi Oil Exports to India Surge by Over 8%

Baghdad: Iraqi oil exports to India have experienced a significant rise, increasing by 8.3% in February compared to the previous month, according to data from the data analysis company "Kepler." This surge has brought the total imports to exceed 1.1 million barrels per day.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, while Iraq saw an increase in its oil exports to India, the country's imports of Russian oil saw a decline of 14.9% from January, averaging 1.4 million barrels per day. Additionally, shipments of Saudi oil to India fell slightly by 0.7% over the same period.

To counterbalance the reduction in Russian oil supplies, Indian refineries, which rank as the third-largest oil consumers globally, have increased their procurement from alternative sources such as Nigeria, Angola, Mexico, and Colombia.
