Iraqi Oil Exports To The US Surged By 80,000 Barrels Per Day Last Week


Washington: The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced on Sunday that Iraqi oil exports to the United States increased by more than 200,000 barrels per day last week.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EIA reported that U.S. crude oil imports from ten major countries averaged 6.234 million barrels per day last week, marking an increase of 567,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week’s 5.667 million barrels per day.



The statistics from the EIA revealed that Iraq’s oil exports to the U.S. averaged 209,000 barrels per day, which is an increase of 80,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s 129,000 barrels per day.



The EIA further indicated that the largest share of U.S. oil imports last week originated from Canada, followed by Mexico, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia.



Additionally, the data showed that U.S. crude oil imports continue to come from Colombia, Libya, Ecuador, Nigeria, and Venezuela.



The Energy Information Administration estimates that the United States consumes approximately 20 million barrels of oil per day, making it the world’s largest oil consumer.
