Baghdad: Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid has emphasized the urgent need for unified Arab and international efforts to halt aggression and facilitate aid delivery to the Gaza Strip. In a recent meeting with Palestinian Ambassador Ahmed al-Ruwaidi at the Baghdad Palace, President Rashid underscored Iraq’s solidarity with the Palestinian people and called for a decisive stand against the violence and blockade impacting civilians, women, children, and the elderly.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Iraqi president highlighted the importance of ensuring that humanitarian, medical, and food aid reaches the people of Gaza effectively and promptly. The discussions between Rashid and al-Ruwaidi focused on the dire humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip and Palestine at large, exacerbated by the ongoing blockade and restricted aid access. They also addressed the international community’s inadequate response to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
