Baghdad:New York: Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi has extended an invitation to members of the American Chamber of Commerce and specialized companies to take part in the Baghdad Energy Conference, highlighting the benefits that the Iraqi economy offers. He emphasized that Iraq is keen on developing economic relations grounded in partnership, mutual interests, and long-term investment.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Zaidi, during his meeting with a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in New York, underscored Iraq’s rich natural resources, skilled workforce, and strategic geographic location as key elements for successful investment partnerships. The government is committed to leveraging these resources to foster economic development and enhance investment opportunities.
The Prime Minister assured attendees of the government’s dedication to providing essential requirements and facilities for companies and investors. This includes offering land for investment projects in line with Iraqi laws and granting tax and customs exemptions for investment projects, potentially lasting up to ten years.
Al-Zaidi also mentioned Iraq’s efforts to advance infrastructure and transportation projects, particularly through the Development Road Project, which aims to expand the railway network. This initiative is expected to bolster Iraq’s role as a critical transit point between East and West, offering extensive opportunities for investors.
He urged US companies to capitalize on the available investment prospects in sectors such as petrochemicals, glass, phosphate, gas, and clean energy. The government is eager to establish factories and productive projects that will help diversify the economy and generate job opportunities.
