Baghdad: The Iraqi General Reinsurance Company, an entity under the Ministry of Finance, orchestrated an Iftar banquet for the elderly residing at the Al-Ataa/Al-Rashad Home, located in Al-Finjan Gardens in the Al-Hurriya district. This event, part of the “Mercy and Connection” initiative, took place last night and was aimed at spreading joy during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the event was supported by Finance Minister Taif Sami and overseen by Dr. Wasan Saad Qasim, the Director General of the Iraqi General Reinsurance Company. Engineer Marwa Al-Hayali, head of the volunteer support team, highlighted the collaborative efforts in organizing the banquet. The evening also featured a Ramadan competition tailored for the elderly, with gifts distributed to participants, adding to the festive and appreciative atmosphere.
The attendees expressed their gratitude and enjoyment of the Ramadan ambiance provided by the initiative. The event served not only as a celebration of the holy month but also as a gesture of compassion and solidarity with the elderly community.
