Iraqi Women Judges Association Reaffirms Commitment to Empower Women in Judiciary


Baghdad: The Iraqi Association of Women Judges has renewed its commitment to supporting the progress of women judges and enhancing their presence within the judiciary. The association marked International Women Judges Day on Tuesday, highlighting the significant role of women judges in upholding justice and strengthening the rule of law.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the celebration of International Women Judges Day served as a platform to recognize the noteworthy contributions of women judges to the judicial system and society at large. Judge Taghreed Abdul Majeed, President of the Iraqi Women Judges Association, emphasized during a virtual meeting the importance of this occasion as a gesture of appreciation and pride for female judges who tirelessly carry the message of justice with integrity and determination.



Judge Abdul Majeed praised the growing presence of female judges in Iraq, noting their professional excellence and pivotal role in the judiciary. She highlighted that female judges have consistently demonstrated wisdom, fairness, and courage in their careers, thereby enhancing public confidence in judicial institutions and consolidating the principles of justice and human rights.



The Iraqi Women Judges Association remains committed to empowering female judges and promoting their presence across various judicial fields. This commitment aligns with constitutional principles of equality and equal opportunities, aiming to build a robust judicial system that contributes to achieving justice and strengthening the rule of law.



Judge Abdul Majeed also acknowledged the challenges facing the region and emphasized the necessity of reinforcing the values of justice and the rule of law to maintain peace and stability. She expressed hope that the current delicate circumstances would pass peacefully, ensuring security and stability for Iraq and other regional countries.
