Washington: The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has reported a notable increase in U.S. imports of Iraqi crude oil during the past week, compared to the previous one.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EIA’s weekly report showed that the average U.S. crude oil imports from eight main suppliers stood at 5.44 million barrels per day. This marks a decline of 471,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s total of 5.911 million barrels per day.

The report indicated that Iraq’s oil exports to the U.S. climbed to 328,000 barrels per day, an increase of 186,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s level of 142,000 barrels per day.

The EIA pointed out that Canada remained the largest supplier of crude oil to the U.S., followed by Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia. Imports also continued from Brazil, Libya, and Nigeria, while no shipments were recorded from Venezuela or Ecuador during the same period.
