Baghdad: Iraq’s oil exports to the United States saw a reduction last week, as announced by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Sunday. The decline in Iraqi oil exports comes amid an overall increase in US crude oil imports from other major countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EIA provided statistics revealing that the average US crude oil imports from nine major countries reached 5.368 million barrels per day, showing an increase of 17,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s 5.351 million barrels per day. Despite the overall rise in imports, the average Iraqi oil exports to the US fell to 214,000 barrels per day, marking a decrease of 59,000 barrels per day from the prior week’s 273,000 barrels per day.

The administration highlighted that the largest oil imports to the US last week were primarily from Canada, with Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico following. Additional imports continued to come from Colombia, Ecuador, Libya, and Brazil. Notably, the US did not import a
ny crude oil from Venezuela during this period.
