Washington: Iraq’s oil exports to the United States saw a notable increase last week, exceeding the 200,000 barrels per day mark. The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed this development on Sunday, highlighting a shift in the dynamics of US oil imports.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EIA reported that the average US crude oil imports from eight major countries totaled 4.673 million barrels per day last week. This figure represents a decrease of 904,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week’s average of 5.577 million barrels per day.

The EIA’s data showed that Iraq’s oil exports to the United States reached 202,000 barrels per day. This marks an increase of 32,000 barrels per day when compared to the previous week’s average of 170,000 barrels per day.

In terms of overall US oil imports, Canada was the leading supplier, followed by Colombia, Venezuela, and Saudi Arabia. The data also highlighted that Mexico, Nigeria, and Brazil continued to export crude oil to the US, albeit at lower rates.
