Iraq’s Oil Minister Engages in Talks with French Technip on Industry Development


Paris: The Minister of Oil, Bassem Mohammed Khudair al-Abadi, engaged in discussions with a delegation from the French company Technip regarding the development of the oil and gas industry in Iraq. The meeting took place during al-Abadi’s visit to France, where he was part of the delegation accompanying Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the talks focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration between Iraq and Technip to enhance the oil and gas sector. The discussions aimed at leveraging Technip’s expertise to advance Iraq’s industry capabilities, ensuring the country’s resources are developed efficiently to meet both domestic and international demands.



The Oil Minister’s visit highlights Iraq’s commitment to strengthening ties with international partners and seeking technological and strategic support to boost its vital energy sector. The meeting with Technip is part of broader efforts to attract foreign investment and expertise to propel the industry’s growth.
