Baghdad: The planning committee convened for its third meeting to discuss the development of a comprehensive strategy aimed at supporting minorities in Iraq. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Planning and was chaired by the Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Hanaa Ismail Al-Asadi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry announced in a press release that an agreement was reached on a draft of the comprehensive strategy. This draft aims to achieve specific goals and objectives and has been shared with several international organizations and relevant specialized bodies. Additionally, the committee decided to conduct visits to religious and spiritual leaders from various sects and communities in Baghdad and other provinces. These visits aim to evaluate the draft strategy's feasibility and address any issues it might have overlooked.

The committee also reviewed a letter from the National Security Advisory concerning the policy on social diversity, discussing whether to continue or discontinue its implementation. An agreement was made to prepare a response that would ensure the integration and consistency of efforts and policies. The focus is on serving the diverse segments of Iraqi society by enacting new laws and legislation or activating existing ones.

The formation of this committee is part of the government's broader commitment to achieving justice and equality for all components of the Iraqi people. The meeting saw participation from representatives of the Prime Minister's Office, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and various ministries, including Foreign Affairs, Labor and Social Affairs, Migration and Displacement, and others. Representatives from the United Nations Development Programme, the National Security Advisory, and relevant departments within the Ministry were also in attendance.
