Iraq’s Ranking Improves in ICT Development Index for 2025

Baghdad: The Ministry of Communications announced today a significant improvement in Iraq’s ranking in the Information and Communication Technology Development Index (IDI) issued by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Iraq’s score increased from 69.5 points in 2023 to 78.4 points in 2025.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry attributed this achievement to its strategic vision to modernize the telecommunications infrastructure, expand digital services, support the national economy, and actively contribute to the goals of comprehensive digital transformation.

The statement added that this progress “marks a turning point in the path of sustainable development, and a real opportunity to establish Iraq’s position as a regional and international hub in the field of telecommunications and information technology, as well as a key enabler of the country’s advancing digitalization efforts.”
