Iraq’s UN Representative Warns Against Targeting Iranian Nuclear Facilities

New York: Iraq’s representative to the UN Security Council, Abbas Kazim Obaid, emphasized that targeting nuclear facilities in Iran represents a dangerous precedent. He expressed concerns over the rising tensions in the region and highlighted the potential implications for international stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Obaid pointed out that the current developments in the region serve as a crucial test for the international order. He warned that any attack on Iran could trigger regional conflicts, further destabilizing an area already plagued by decades of suffering.

Obaid also highlighted Iraq’s own experiences with regional conflict, noting repeated violations of Iraqi airspace. He reiterated Iraq’s stance against the use of its territory in any ongoing or future conflicts within the region.
