New york: Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Amir Saeid Iravani has emphasized that the Islamic Republic will not relinquish its right to uranium enrichment under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Addressing the UN Security Council meeting, Iravani responded to the US representative’s assertion that Iran cannot conduct uranium enrichment on its soil.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Iravani expressed appreciation for any fair and meaningful negotiations but criticized the insistence on a zero-enrichment policy, labeling it inconsistent with Iran’s rights as a Member of the NPT. He highlighted that this approach suggests the aim is not to pursue fair negotiations but to impose predetermined intentions on Iran.

Iravani concluded by asserting Iran’s resolve, stating that the nation will not bow to pressure or intimidation, nor will it allow itself to be blackmailed in the international arena.
