BEIRUT: The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon announced a rocket attack targeting the Glilot military base, home to Israel’s 8200 Military Intelligence Unit, early Tuesday morning. The attack was described as a show of support for Palestinians in Gaza and a response to Israeli actions in the region.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the Islamic Resistance stated that the attack was part of the “Khaibar operations,” launched at 07:50 a.m. local time on October 22, 2024. The statement emphasized solidarity with the Palestinian resistance and was framed as a defense of Lebanon and its people against what it described as assaults and massacres by the “Zionist enemy.”
The statement also referenced the influence of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, indicating that the attack was carried out under the rallying call of “At your service, O Nasrallah.” The Glilot base, located on the outskirts of Tel Aviv, is significant due to its association with Israel’s military intelligence capabilities.
