Tel Aviv: Israeli Channel 12 revealed that the ongoing conflict with Hezbollah has resulted in the deaths of 124 Israelis, including 79 soldiers, since the escalation began last September. The hostilities have significantly impacted the northern region of Israel, with Hezbollah’s attacks leading to widespread destruction and disruption.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Israeli Army Radio reported that sirens have sounded 22,715 times throughout Israel due to Hezbollah’s offensive actions. These warnings included 16,198 alerts triggered by missile strikes and 6,517 by drone incursions. The relentless attacks have caused substantial damage to infrastructure and civilian property in the affected areas.

Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper highlighted data from the property tax department, indicating that more than 9,000 buildings and 7,000 vehicles have been completely destroyed in northern Israel due to Hezbollah fire. The Israeli government has disbursed 140 million shekels ($38.4 million) in compensation
for the damages incurred. The financial toll is expected to rise as ongoing evacuations and unreported injuries continue to emerge.

In light of the conflict, a poll by Israel’s Channel 13 revealed that 61% of Israelis feel their country has not successfully defeated Hezbollah. Moreover, 66% of respondents expressed their support for ending hostilities in the Gaza Strip to facilitate a prisoner exchange deal, underscoring the public’s desire for a peaceful resolution.

A ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel came into effect at dawn on Wednesday, bringing an end to over a year and a half of military confrontations across the border and two months of open warfare between the two parties. This development marks a significant step towards restoring peace in the region, although the long-term impact of the conflict remains to be seen.
