Jerusalem: Israel has carried out a large military buildup on the borders with Lebanon and Syria, coinciding with its airstrikes on targets inside Iran. Hebrew media reported that reserve brigades in the Israeli army were mobilized in the north, and battalions were deployed along the Lebanese and Syrian borders.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, over the past 24 hours, the headquarters of the 146th Division and the Iron Fist (205) and Etzioni (6) reserve brigades were mobilized, serving as reserves for various scenarios in the northern arena. In addition, several reserve battalions and some community defense departments were recruited and deployed along the Lebanese and Syrian borders to bolster defense.
The Israeli military launched a large-scale operation, dubbed “Rising Lion,” against Iran at dawn on Friday. The air force bombed military targets and Iranian nuclear program sites, in addition to eliminating a number of Iranian military leaders.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei stated on Friday that the Iranian armed forces would use force, and that Israel would not escape responsibility for the crime. He stressed that “there will be no leniency” in this regard. For its part, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that Tehran had launched Operation “True Promise 3” in response to the Israeli strikes.
