Gaza city: The Israeli army announced today that it completed five waves of raids on Gaza City this week as part of the next phase of Operation "Gideon 2," targeting more than 500 sites associated with the Palestinian Hamas movement.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee stated that the airstrikes were orchestrated under the Southern Command, focusing on military infrastructure, towers, and buildings utilized by Hamas for operational purposes. These targets included reconnaissance and sniper positions, weapons depots, and tunnels. The strikes were initially concentrated in the neighborhoods of Al-Daraj, Al-Tuffah, and Al-Furqan, and later expanded to cover the Al-Shati area and other parts of Gaza. Adraee emphasized that efforts were made to minimize civilian casualties.

Adraee further mentioned that the Israeli army plans to intensify attacks based on precise intelligence to dismantle Hamas's infrastructure and diminish its operational capabilities, aligning with preparations for the next phase of the operation.

The operation is part of Israel's broader plan to seize control of Gaza City, which involves the forced displacement of approximately one million Palestinians to the southern part of the Strip. This strategy has attracted significant international criticism. Despite warnings, Israel is continuing to make preparations to implement the plan.

In the meantime, Gaza Strip residents are facing severe hunger, with UN organizations warning of a potential widespread famine. There is an increasing concern over deaths from malnutrition, particularly affecting children, the sick, and the disabled.
