Israeli Bombing of Children’s Vaccination Center in Northern Gaza.

Gaza: The World Health Organization (WHO) announced today, Sunday, that it had received a report stating that a health care center in the northern Gaza Strip was subjected to Israeli bombing on Saturday evening, coinciding with the resumption of the polio vaccination campaign. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the WHO stated in a statement via the "X" platform, "A report we received is very disturbing, stating that the Sheikh Radwan Primary Health Care Center in northern Gaza was bombed on Saturday." The statement explained that "this area was bombed" while parents were bringing their children to be vaccinated against polio, noting that "a humanitarian truce was agreed upon in this area to allow vaccination to continue." It indicated that "6 people were injured in this bombing, including 4 children," noting that a team from the World Health Organization was present at the site shortly before the attack. The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, considered tha t "this attack, during a humanitarian truce, jeopardizes the sanctity of protecting children's health, and may discourage parents from bringing their children to be vaccinated." He stressed the "necessity of respecting these vital humanitarian truces, absolutely," renewing the call for a ceasefire.
