Gaza City:Israel: Israel has announced the killing of the Hamas commander of the Northern Gaza Strip Brigade during recent military operations, which also resulted in Palestinian casualties.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that Israeli forces killed the commander, identified by local sources as Izz al-Din al-Baik. He was targeted in Israeli airstrikes and gunfire on Tuesday morning.
Israel’s Channel 15 reported that the Israeli army has heightened the alert level for its divisions in Gaza. This was in response to intelligence suggesting a possible attempt by Hamas to capture a soldier along the “Yellow Line” ahead of the upcoming Israeli and US elections, although no such attempt has been confirmed.
In a separate operation, the Israeli army targeted an apartment in the Al-Nasr neighborhood of western Gaza City, killing Shadi Abu Hasira, who was accused of being a financial official within Hamas’s military wing.
These military actions were accompanied by artillery shelling and gunfire from Israeli forces in various areas along the “Yellow Line” throughout the northern, central, and southern regions of the Gaza Strip.
