Tel Aviv: The Israeli army announced that a tank commander from the 79th Battalion was killed in the northern region of the Gaza Strip. The incident also resulted in serious injuries to an officer and a soldier.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Times of Israel website detailed that the soldier was killed by sniper fire in Beit Hanoun, which is located near a military site in the buffer zone. The Israeli army has confirmed that the soldier's family has been informed of his death, although his name has not been released to the public.

Western media sources earlier reported that Israeli warplanes established a cordon of fire in northern Gaza following an ambush on an army force.
