Kirkuk: The Joint Operations Command announced today, Friday, that six terrorists were targeted by airstrikes in Wadi al-Shai, within the Salah al-Din sector. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Joint Operations Command stated that the operation was conducted by the Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Interior. The agency had been monitoring and conducting surveillance on a terrorist group in Wadi al-Shai for more than two consecutive months. The operation was supported by technical follow-up and oversight from the Targeting Cell in the Joint Operations Command, which continued throughout last night and into Friday morning.
The statement highlighted that airstrikes were carried out by the Air Force using F-16 aircraft, targeting the location where the six terrorist elements were situated. This resulted in the complete destruction of the location. The units involved in the operation continue to monitor and follow up in the Salah al-Din sector to ensure the area remains secure.
