Baghdad: A joint security operation was launched early Tuesday morning in the Hamrin Mountains by the Diyala Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces and the Iraqi Army Operations Command. This operation aims to eliminate the remnants of ISIS terrorist cells in the area.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Popular Mobilization Commission announced that the operation is being conducted from three different axes. The efforts are based on precise intelligence information to ensure the effective targeting of ISIS elements still present in the region.
The operation commenced with intensive artillery and mortar shelling, focusing on designated targets to disrupt and dismantle the terrorist cells entrenched in the mountainous terrain. This strategic approach is intended to weaken the operational capabilities of ISIS remnants and restore stability in the region.
