Baghdad: The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian charg© d’affaires in Amman on Sunday to deliver a strongly worded protest concerning the ongoing Iranian attacks on the Kingdom’s territory and inflammatory statements from Iranian officials. The ministry emphasized that such actions must stop immediately as they threaten the security of the Kingdom.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ambassador Fouad Majali, the official spokesperson for the Ministry, confirmed that Jordan demanded the charg© d’affaires convey a clear message to Tehran, insisting on the immediate cessation of the attacks. Majali underlined that the security of Jordan and its citizens is a “red line” that must not be crossed, and called for an end to the inflammatory rhetoric.
In his statements, Majali condemned the Iranian attacks, labeling them as a blatant violation of Jordan’s sovereignty and a breach of international law and the UN Charter. He also expressed Jordan’s condemnation of Iranian attacks on Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, affirming the Kingdom’s full solidarity with these nations and support for any measures they take to uphold their sovereignty and security.
Majali reiterated that Jordan is committed to taking all necessary steps to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens. The Ministry’s stance highlights the seriousness with which Jordan views these transgressions and its determination to ensure the protection of its national interests.
