Jordanian Army Foils Drug Smuggling Attempt from Syria


Amman: The Jordanian army announced that it had thwarted an attempt to infiltrate and smuggle a large quantity of narcotics coming from Syria.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the movements of a group of smugglers attempting to cross the border illegally were monitored. Rapid reaction patrols were deployed, and the rules of engagement were implemented, leading to their retreat deep inside Syria. With the intensification of search and inspection operations, large quantities of narcotics were seized and transferred to the relevant authorities.



The source stressed that the Jordanian Armed Forces are continuing to harness all their capabilities and potential to prevent the spread of narcotics to the citizens of the country, in order to preserve the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
