Baghdad: The head of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), Judge Faiq Zaidan, and the head of the Iraqi Football Association, Younis Mahmoud, convened to address the issues affecting the progress of football in Iraq.
According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Supreme Judicial Council detailed that Judge Faiq Zidan welcomed Younis Mahmoud, marking his new role as President of the Iraqi Football Association. During the meeting, Judge Zidan extended his congratulations to Mahmoud for taking on the new position.
The discussions primarily focused on overcoming the legal barriers hindering the development of football in the country. Both leaders emphasized the importance of addressing these challenges to foster the growth of the sport in Iraq, aiming to bring about significant improvements in the football sector.
