Salalah: The Supreme Judicial Council took part in the 30th meeting of the heads of judicial inspection bodies and agencies in Arab countries, which was held in Salalah, Sultanate of Oman. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration and improving the performance of judicial inspection bodies across the Arab region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Judge Laith Jabr, Head of the Judicial Supervision Authority, represented the Supreme Judicial Council at the event. He addressed various topics aimed at advancing the work of judicial inspection bodies, notably the establishment of regulations and mechanisms for the Arab Award for Judicial Inspection. He also highlighted the proposals and criteria developed by the Judicial Supervision Authority in Iraq concerning the award.

The meeting participants engaged in discussions on criteria for evaluating and assessing judges’ performance, with a focus on enhancing the quality of judicial work. The discussions aimed to uphold the principles of professionalism, independence, and impartiality within the judiciary. The participants also explored the role of artificial intelligence in analyzing the quality of judicial rulings and decisions, as well as the potential for leveraging modern technologies to advance judicial inspection and evaluation processes.

Additionally, the participants deliberated on various issues and developments related to supporting the independence of the judiciary, refining judicial inspection mechanisms, and fostering the exchange of expertise and experiences among Arab judicial inspection bodies. These efforts are geared towards unifying judicial visions and practices, thereby contributing to the enhancement of justice quality and the elevation of judicial performance standards in Arab countries.
