Baghdad: The Supreme Judicial Council announced today the recovery of 1.5 billion dinars in connection with a financial fraud case.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the recovery was executed by the Second Karkh Investigation Court. The court successfully reclaimed the sum as part of a case involving the fraudulent acquisition of public funds from a department within the Ministry of Trade.

The statement from the Council emphasized that the recovery was made possible through significant efforts overseen by the court’s first judge. These efforts are part of an ongoing initiative to take legal action against other ministries or companies engaged in illegal practices that jeopardize public funds.
