Baghdad: Judge Diaa Jaafar, the investigating judge at the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court, announced the seizure of 14 billion Iraqi dinars in the case concerning the detained Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Refining Affairs, Adnan al-Jumaili, and his accomplices.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Judge Jaafar stated that the funds were recovered following a meticulous follow-up on projects where waste was identified. The money was discovered hidden in a rainwater drainage pit. Investigations are continuing to determine all individuals involved in the case.
