BEIJING: The junior national team delegation departed this Tuesday afternoon for Beijing, where they will engage in a training camp in preparation for their participation in the Asian qualifiers in Chinese Taipei for the 2024 AFC U-17 Asian Cup.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the team’s schedule in the qualifiers is set, with their opening match against the group host, Chinese Taipei, slated for the twenty-third of this month. The team will then face the Palestinian national team on the twenty-fifth, and will conclude its group stage matches against Uzbekistan on the twenty-seventh.

The training camp in Beijing is seen as a crucial preparatory step to acclimatize the team to the conditions and ensure they are at their competitive best. The outcomes of these matches will determine the team’s progression in the tournament and their potential to make it to the 2024 AFC U-17 Asian Cup finals.
