Karbala: The Karbala Criminal Court has sentenced a man to three years of rigorous imprisonment for impersonating a brigadier general in the Popular Mobilization Forces.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the convicted man engaged in impersonation to secure financial gain from citizens by making false promises of employment in state institutions. During the investigation, authorities discovered he was in possession of a rifle, a pistol, electronic payment cards, security forces insignia, forged IDs and badges, as well as a bag containing documents and cash.
The Judicial Council’s media office reported that the sentence was issued in accordance with Article 1/1 and 2 of Resolution No. 160 of 1983, and based on Article 132/3 of the Penal Code.
