Karbala Governor and Iranian Ambassador Discuss Cooperation on Holy Shrine Visits

KARBALA: The Governor of Karbala, Naseef Jassim Al-Khattabi, met with the Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad, Muhammad Kazem Al-Sadiq, to discuss collaboration on facilitating mutual visits to holy shrines. The discussions focused on enhancing the experience for millions of visitors, particularly during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, which sees significant participation from Iranian nationals. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting addressed various mechanisms to improve cooperation between Iraq and Iran in managing the influx of pilgrims to the holy sites. The Arbaeen visit is a major event, drawing millions of visitors, and effective coordination between the two nations is essential to accommodate the large number of pilgrims, most of whom come from Iran. The discussions aimed at ensuring a smoother pilgrimage experience for visitors to the revered shrines.
