Karbala Governor Assures Adequate Food Reserves and Orders Stringent Market Oversight

Karbala: The governor of Karbala, Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, has confirmed that the province has a robust supply of strategic reserves of essential food commodities, alleviating concerns over the need for citizens to hoard food and basic supplies. Al-Khattabi stated that the reserves are "available at very good levels," ensuring they adequately meet the demands of the local market.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during a meeting with the Higher Economic Committee, which included directors of pertinent security and service departments, the governor emphasized the importance of implementing mechanisms to monitor market activities. This involves controlling prices and ensuring the safety and quality of goods available to residents.

Al-Khattabi has instructed relevant committees to ramp up their field visits and conduct daily market monitoring. This proactive approach aims to stabilize prices and maintain high-quality goods for consumers, thereby ensuring consumer protection and sustaining economic stability within the province.
