Karbala: The Governor of Karbala, Eng. Nassif Jassem Al-Khattabi, met today with the Swiss Ambassador to Iraq, Daniel Hunn, to discuss prospects for joint cooperation and ways to enhance bilateral relations across various sectors.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, Al-Khattabi highlighted the historical, political, and economic significance of Karbala, in addition to its religious and humanitarian stature. He emphasized the province’s role as a model of stability and coexistence, and provided a detailed overview of ongoing development plans and available investment opportunities.

For his part, Ambassador Hunn expressed his pleasure at visiting the holy city of Karbala, praising the evident progress and organization within the province. He affirmed Switzerland’s interest in deepening cooperation, particularly in the field of education, through university twinning initiatives between Swiss and Iraqi institutions, as well as exploring investment and cultural collaboration opportunities.
